ANA IN CONCERT: The Kurt Weill Project

ANA IN CONCERT: The Kurt Weill Project is a music theatre work that premiered at the 2025 Kurt Weill Festival in Dessau, Germany.  To mark the 125th anniversary of Composer Kurt Weill’s birth, the 33rd Kurt Weill Festival reflected the diversity of Weill’s life and work. 

Featuring all Kurt Weill songs, ANA IN CONCERT: The Kurt Weill Project tells a story about hope and resilience and the courage and conviction it takes to be an artist.

Featuring Ana Karneža and William Schwartzman

Ana Karneža is a Slovenian actor and singer based in New York City. A graduate of the Acting Program at The Juilliard School, she began her career performing at major televised music festivals in Sloveniai. In 2024, she became the first Slovenian and first disabled performer to win the Lotte Lenya Competition, a prestigious award recognizing excellence in acting and vocal performance.

Jazz pianist William Schwartzman has performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall in London, Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Monterey Jazz Festival. He has shared the stage with renowned jazz musicians such as Wynton Marsalis and Dee Dee Bridgewater.
